I love your blog. Please keep updating, as we are reading! I’ve always wanted to join the Peace Corp and my dream would be to be placed in Nicaragua so it was awesome finding this and being able to read about your experiences.

I do have a question. Did you request Central America? Does that happen often within the Peace Corp or are you normally placed wherever they put you?

Hi JP! So sorry it took me forever to respond to this. I´m so glad you like my blog! As per your questions, I did not request Central America but listed it as one of the many regions in the world I would be willing to go (I pretty much said during my interview I would go anywhere). You can make a case for a certain region, but usually PC is pretty good about seeing where your skills are, any languages you may know (I´m pretty sure I was placed here because I had a Spanish background), and what is available at the time of your application. Feel free to respond back and I can send a personal email if you have any more questions you´d like answered!

    Best,
    Alyssa
